DJ Software with AI Stems

Swagg Brown DJ's AI stem separation splits any loaded track into four playable layers — vocals, drums, bass and other instruments — so you can remix, build acapellas, drop instrumentals and design transitions live on the deck.

What DJ stems are

A "stem" is one isolated part of a mixed song. When AI separates a track into stems, you get four independent audio layers that play back perfectly in sync with each other:

  • Vocals — lead and backing vocals, ideal for building acapellas.
  • Drums — the kick, snare, hats and percussion.
  • Bass — the low-end that carries the groove.
  • Other — melody, synths and instruments not captured by the other three.

What DJs do with stems

Acapella-in / instrumental-out

Mute vocals to create an instant instrumental version, or mute everything else for an acapella overlay on the next track.

Live mashups

Play the vocals from one track over the drums and bass of another — no pre-production required.

Long transitions

Bring in the drums of the next song under the current vocal, then swap the instrumental piece by piece.

Vocal-only echo tails

Cut everything but vocals, throw them into delay, and drop into the next track.

How Swagg Brown processes stems

Stems are generated by our cloud AI provider. The first time you press ⚡ Create Stems on a track, the audio is temporarily uploaded to the processing provider (per the agreement you accept once at first run) and the resulting stem set is stored securely, tied to the audio's fingerprint. That means:

  • The same track never uses your minutes twice. Once processed, it loads instantly and free forever after — even on a new device.
  • You control when processing happens. Nothing is uploaded until you press Create Stems.
  • Stems mix live inside the browser after the first load — mute/solo/level changes are instant with no waiting.

Plan & minute limits

AI stems are included on the Pro plan ($14.99/month) with 150 processing minutes per month. Cached tracks load free and don't count against your quota. Additional minutes can be purchased from your dashboard when you need them.

If your session is on Basic, the STEMS button on each deck will point you to the Pro upgrade — everything else in the studio still works.

Frequently asked

Do I need to pre-process every song?

No. Load a track, press STEMS, and if it's a new track you'll see "⚡ Create Stems — uses X.X min." Press it once. Any future load of the same track shows "Stems Ready · No Processing Needed" and loads instantly for free.

Which stems can I mute or solo?

All four — vocals, drums, bass and other — independently, with click-free level ramps.

Is there a quality difference from an offline stem separator?

Swagg Brown uses the same cloud AI models trusted by producers and DJs for offline stem work. Quality is comparable; the advantage is that it happens right in your DJ session with the deck already loaded.
